First example of Y-under-14 hyper-efficient mob farm. (why Y-under-14? watch the video for explanation).\r
\r
This is a fifthin my- Fun Farms, where I am taking one mob at a time and showing unique \r
\r
farms based around some interesting game mechanics.\r
\r
Ultra-efficient, Passive (Peaceful) Mob farm. 2000 Animals (180 Horses) for 5000 Spawning Spaces / hour but you \r
\r
can scale it up as long as your computer (server) is OK with it. Needs a little bit of TNT (I used 2 double \r
\r
chests in my world), otherwise, pretty cheap to build too. I guess as server friendly as flush based mob farm \r
\r
can ever be, but with 5000 spawning spaces I didnt encounter any dropped ticks (unlike with my previous 37k \r
\r
spaces design). CPU was spiking from 3% to 8% on the server (Vanilla 1.8.8) (max 12%, (8 core machine)) when \r
\r
the water was flushing (AMD old cheap-o processor). 1.9 Snapshots server had less luck (spikes up to max 12%, \r
\r
but no dropped ticks either). Should be better once the production 1.9 comes out. Preferable client: Optifine with \r
\r
water animations turns off (barely noticeable frame drops). Vanilla 1.8 client (no ability of turning water \r
\r
animations off) – significant frames dropped (up to 10FPS at occasion). Vanilla snapshot 1.9 client: no \r
\r
comments (1-2 fps). However – client performance doesnt affect server performance, so thats ok. Looking up \r
\r
into the sky while the farm is running fixes the issue.\r
\r
+Extra analysis of changes in natural spawning in Minecraft 1.8.8 based on MCP code base (MCP 9.18) (comparing \r
\r
to previous versions of Minecraft). It seems from the experiments, that it didnt change so far in 1.9.\r
\r
Modeling world to simulate mob spawning written in Python, rewritten from Java (MCP).\r

In Comparison with:\r
Cheapest and Easiest passive mob farm (300 animals / 37 000 spawning spaces / h):\r
\r
ZipKrowd MushroomCow Farm (4000 animals/ 100 000 spawning spaces) (they reported 11500 drops, but cows on \r
\r
average drop 3 items (one leather and 2 beef))\r
