Sixth and I Historic Synagogue – Sixth & I Historic Synagogue
Written with the verve readers know from his novels, Everything Is Illuminated and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Jonathan Safran Foer’s first nonfiction book — Eating Animals — grew out of his need to justify dietary decisions to his children.A vegetarian and sometime vegan, Foer carefully examines the stories we tell ourselves about what we eat, considering notions of comfort, tradition, and culture. He blends his memories of the roles food played in his childhood with literary representations of meals; reviews various philosophies of food; and conducts his own investigations into factory farms.

It’s not enough to sit at home rooting for your favorite sports team and go to the voting booths every four years. It’s not enough to scoff and smirk at our nation’s leaders while doing nothing about it.Time to drop the negativity and complacency, and become your own doctor, guru (Gee, you are you!), lover, and friend. We have *unlimited* power and it’s about time that we flex that power. All we have to do is live a more natural lifestyle, never become rigid in your beliefs (because thats all they are), and to devote ourselves to unconditional love.

Winner of SCI-FI-LONDON 7 48-Hour Film Challenge

Our first 48-hour film challenge was a great success. A long queue of hopefuls waited outside the Apollo to be issued a title, prop/action and a line of dialogue. Teams then had 48-hours to come up with a short film, that had to incorporate all of the above. We had some brilliant entries and here we present all participants.

Team: Rebel Alliance
Prop: Clear bottle with red or green liquid
Dialogue: I am required to carry out this task until completion; your orders do not override anything

Director: Gareth Edwards
Country: UK (2008)
Language: English
